Seeing Red

I am definitely in the red
Not quite sure if this is real passion
Not quite sure if this is anger or frustration

Or merely disappointment

Not quite sure if red is saying stop or saying go

Not quite sure if it’s reflecting courage
Or if it’s speaking strength
Does this strong red make me feel less delicate
Does this bold red make me feel less vulnerable
Red is the colour of life
The life giving blood running through my veins


Red is the colour of pain
Of his blood upon the cross
Red is the colour of love
See his red blood on the cross

Red should be the colour of love
Red should be the colour of loss


Red is covered by his love.
