Lady Bishops

I am so sad about the split in our church that I can think of nothing to do or say which could help, so I came here to pour my heart out, and ask for any learned lady (or man) to answer me a few questions.

Being Shabby With God

A minister passing through his church
in the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar
and see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened,
a man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw
the man hadn't shaved in a while.

His shirt was kinda shabby
and his coat was worn and frayed,
the man knelt, he bowed his head,

Finding The One

"I'm waiting for 'The One'",  " She's a lovely girl but not 'The One'", "He's really funny and I like being around him, but he's not 'The One'. "This one could be 'The One', etc.

Isn't it great. I love those stories about married couples who knew within 14 seconds that they were meant for one another. They spot across an open room, their eyes meet, then they disappear for 4 years but in a bar in the a small village in Peru they see each other and they know... GREAT! I love it!

Take the Hole of Me

I was praying with someone yesterday and we junked a huge amount of spiritual stuff.  They said that they were very aware of the Hole in them.  That aching and yearning space which we try and fill with food, drugs, cigarettes, sex, the promise of a husband or wife etc.  The 'God shaped Hole'.  The problem, as we know,  is that this hole is infinite, and all these things merely show us the depth of our lack.  These things disappear, engulfed into the blackness and they barely touch the sides.  In fact they almost make us MORE aware that we are holey not holy.

Tigga the Tagga

The MEME of three.

1... Things that scare me.

a. Question Poles
b. Girls who make you do question poles
c. Answering cheekily to girls who make you do question poles

2...People who make me laugh.
a. Me
B. Me
C. Me

3...Things I hate the most.

They stabbed it with their steely knives…

They stabbed it with their steely knives…I’m not a very good man.
In fact I’m rotten.  I love God, but I don’t do the things I want to do for him.  I find I do the things I REALLY don’t want to do. The things which I figure would make God sad. Things which would make God hang his head in shame.

Crying in the Wilderness

In Exodus we see the people of God triumphantly brought from the desert by a benevolent God.  They were protected by a pillar of fire and guided by a cloud, the red sea parted and the Egyptian captors swallowed.  Though they were stuck out in the desert God didn’t let them starve, but gave them the very bread of heaven.  Water flowed freely from the bare rocks and God was with them.
