Everest Base Camp

Folks! Its less than three months away until we jet out to Kathmandu to begin an ascent of Everest up to Base Camp. Why? Im asking myself that in and amongst the training and special food plans too. But then I remember, we are raising a fantastic £10,000 for a charity that deserves our support - Advantage Africa. It is also in long lasting memory of a friend of the team that died whilst being involved in a car crash in Durham (where I was at uni). Please would you support me in my quest. The team going up are all christians too which is such a great comfort, we would really appreciate your prayers to take away our fears for the trip and any injuries up until then. In real focus is the fact that the Nepalese in general are not too welcoming to Christians, in fact they were all but banned from practising in the city of Kathmandu, so your prayers are very welcomed there as they were only given the freedom to express their faith in 2006, so still pretty new.
The website for our expedition is www.challenge2change.org We will have a local Nepalese guide to help us get up and down but apart from that it is going to be pretty much us the mountain and the elements.

If you are able to give a small donation on the site I'd so appreciate it. We have some gifts that we are getting made up at the moment which we would like to give you too. Thank you!

You can find out more about the team and the cause on the site.
Wait...what? You're going to climb Mt. Everest?! Oh, I want to follow this. I'll checkout the other website.
cool. thanks. yes. its real.
wow! that's brilliant!-i really admire you, when are you off exactly? i'm praying for it all :-)
Will updates, prayer needs, etc., be put on this site or the other?
jen, it'll go on here as well as on the other site i suspect. in here i will publish the more personal stuff, prayer requests etc.

at the moment i guess the prayer requests is to keep everyone safe, especially as we step up the training, that there would be no injuries and that people would find the necessary monies they need in order to be able to go. then also that we manage to find willing donors to support the ultimate aim - to raise the £10k for advantage africa (www.advantageafrica.org)

thanks!
